Rapper Is Raising $1 Million To Prove Earth Is Flat

An American rapper, B.o.B, is crowdfunding to buy satellites so he can prove the Earth is flat. It's not. But that "inconvenient truth" hasn't stopped the rapper, whose real name is Bobby Ray Simmons Jr from raising over $2,600 of a lofty goal of $1 million. The rapper, who refers to himself as "Flat Earth Bob," is a proponent of the Flat Earth theory - the claim that the Earth is a giant, flat disc and not spherical.

"I'm starting this GoFundMe because I would like to send one, if not multiple satellites, as far into space as I can, or into orbit as I can, to find the curve," the rapper says in a video posted on the crowdfunding website. The campaign is currently trending on the site.

Some of those who have donated to the campaign have expressed support for the rapper.

"I know the earth is round, but am willing to donate for educational purposes," writes one person who donated $10.

"I am glad you are not afraid to ask, "What if". If it were not for people like you, nothing would be discovered or corrected," writes another who donated $20.

Plenty of others, meanwhile, are mocking him.
